GNU Health is a Free Health and Hospital Information System. We are deploying GNU Health as the hospital management system for Kailash clinic, the community hospital of Auroville.

Kailash is currently an outpatient only clinic with 24 hour Ambulance services. They have their health management records in paper form and the software they currently use is very basic.  We are helping them move their medical records to GNU Health and also to manage all aspects of hospital management - lab, pharmacy, financial accounting, stock management, patient appointments and evaluations.

GNU Health is developed by GNU Solidario a non-profit non-governmental organization (NGO) that works in the areas of health and education with free software.  GNU Health is Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).  There's no vendor lock-in, no hidden costs or upgrade scripts. Everyone will always be able to upgrade to the latest version for free. GNU Health is written in Python and developed around an open source ERP framework called Tryton.
